This board is obviously open to anyone that wants to show up, till we decide to kick them out of course. How do we go about bringing in some real noobs? Do it sort of like the first BBQ where everyone invites one person in?
I do think it would be cool and interesting to have some new people.
Opinions?

my latest preference for new boardmembers is invitation only. I have seen it work in the past & have no reason to think it wouldn't work here. To me, the less people, the better. We all, more or less, know each other. IMO, let's keep it that way. For this kind of board, I think newbies would hurt us. we all post on the Spawn board & will continue to do so. I kinda see this as an aside - breathing room, if you will.
I am, however, open to differing opinions...

Then that works for me. I sort of figured that's the way we should go. I'd like to see Cursed Knight and Felty. I always enjoyed Felty's posts, and I always enjoyed trying to decipher CK's.

Well, if we're gonna keep it invitation only, (and I also think it's a good idea) we should make it clear that THIS board isn't talked about or even brought up on THAT board.
There are a lot more vets out there that need to get there ass in here before we start bringing in noobs. Just my 2 cents.....
maybe n00bs was a wrong choice of words. I just meant that I'm leaving it up to you guys to extend invites to those that you think would be great additions here. I sort of sent out emails to people on my list, but those were the only addys I had. You guys invite who you think should be here.
It's going to be inevitable that word will get out about this board. How we deal with noobs is important here. I've mentioned this many times on that "other" board and I hope we can all follow this code.
1. Rise above it.
2. Ignore the trolls. (let Sculpey deal with them)
3. Lead by example.
The only exception to the above rules is that I firmly believe that we all should rally together and ban that post whore virtualNYC! [img]wink.gif[/img]
I think I should clarify my "noobs" comment. I didn't mean to make it sound that the only criteria for being invited to THIS board is the amount of time spent on THAT board. It is obvious to me ( as well as you, I'm sure ) that being a "vet" doesn't mean they won't post something "stupid" or spam the board. We've seen it many times. I'm sure that there are many "noobs" from the other board that would make a nice addition to this one. Sculpey is right, we should be able to figure out who to invite and who not to invite.
